Where We Work

ECOFOR is an ecological project looking into the effects of land-use change, selective logging and understory fires on forest functions and processes, as well as the services derived from these, such as carbon storage. We focus our research on two different Brazilian biomes, the Amazon and the Atlantic Forests. Our findings will be integrated into models to identify the impacts of human-driven disturbance on both carbon cycling and biodiversity at larger scales. These results will help inform local and regional stakeholders to close the science-policy gap.
